A journey to the roots of Spanish dance: past – present – future
Suzanne Dellal Centre, Yerushalmi Hall
Thursday, 20:30
Spanish dance, for most of us, is associated with the exciting flamenco dance of the senses, when in fact there are plenty of Spanish dance styles, varied and rich.
We are happy to invite you to a series of myth-breaking lectures with flamenco dancer and choreographer Michal Natan. Together we will embark on an introductory journey to the diverse and rich culture and the abundance of styles of Spanish dance – from folklore from the various provinces of Spain to contemporary modern flamenco, including the surprising directions of development for the future and the conservation trends on the other hand.
The lecture series is a special opportunity for an in-depth understanding of Spanish dance culture and will be accompanied by explanations and demonstrations. Michal Natan, a senior flamenco dancer in Israel, has lived, experienced and researched the culture of Spanish dance for many years and is an inexhaustible source of knowledge.
The sessions will be accompanied by the Israeli flamenco band in dance pieces in addition to guest artists and other content experts.
